Little Eyolf and Uncle Vanya are two entirely different stories. Almeida juxtaposed them as a double-header, linked by their shared themes of despair, tragedy, and mortality.
For the promotional campaign, we created two portraits from a shared perspective – an aerial view with the subject lying motionless on the ground – a twist on a classic head & shoulders portrait. The subjects are seemingly lifeless, but their gaze is fixed creating a sense of unease, leading them to question the image and scenario. What’s happened? How did they get here? Are they still alive?
