Hidden behind the facade of a tea shop in the lobby of the newly renovated St Martins Lane~ hotel, Blind Spot is a modern day take on a speakeasy. The visual identity uses white blind embossing to reference traditional bone china. The illustrations are representations of the story of tea travelling to Britain in the mid 1600s, but with more subversive elements hidden within the negative space. The main tiger image is a nod to 1920s slang – ‘Blind Tiger’ being code for speakeasy.
